================================================================== DEBT SNOWBALL PLANNER ================================================================== Plan your debt payoff using the snowball method to stay motivated and save on interest. ------------------------------------------------------------------ STEPS ------------------------------------------------------------------ 1. List all debts (excluding mortgage) from smallest balance to largest. 2. Make minimum payments on all debts except the smallest. 3. Put as much extra money as possible toward the smallest debt. 4. Once the smallest debt is paid off, roll its payment into the next smallest debt. 5. Repeat until all debts are paid. ------------------------------------------------------------------ TIPS ------------------------------------------------------------------ - Seeing quick wins keeps you motivated to continue. - Consider using a spreadsheet to track balances and payments. - Celebrate each debt payoff – it’s progress! - After all non‑mortgage debt is cleared, apply the same strategy to your mortgage if desired. ------------------------------------------------------------------ EXAMPLE ------------------------------------------------------------------ Debt List (ordered smallest → largest): 1. Credit Card A: £1,200 balance, £30 minimum 2. Personal Loan: £5,800 balance, £120 minimum 3. Car Finance: £8,500 balance, £180 minimum Month 1: - Pay minimums on B & C: £120 + £180 = £300 - Put extra toward A: suppose £200 extra → total £230 on A - New A balance: £1,200 – £230 = £970 Continue until A is zero, then apply A’s payment to B, etc. ==================================================================
